Deep Roots Milling Stone Ground Flour
We partner with Deep Roots Milling at Woodson's Mill in Lowesville Virginia to stone grind our wheat into flour at their 1800's water powered mill.
The Deep Roots mill is not certified organic. Our wheat however, is. Here's what happens next:
Prior to grinding our certified organic grain, the mill grinds non-organic grains as well. For this reason they capture the first 25 lbs. of our wheat that comes off the millstone - then discard it. This helps preserve the organic integrity of the flour you are purchasing.
There are two grades of flour offered: Silver, which has 5% of the bran remaining and Gold, with 15% of the bran remaining.
